Now We Know

We are not moving to Illinois in December.
Mr. never received written orders because 1) there weren’t any openings in the position he was promised; 2) his current command decided to not release him; and 3) he didn’t even qualify for the new position.
And that’s how the Navy rolls.

This is good news and bad news. First, [...]

An E-mail from My Brother in Iraq

My baby brother (he’s 30) is in the Army. He’s currently on his second deployment to Iraq. The first one lasted 19 months. That was towards the beginning of the war. He went back in March of this year for 15 months.

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with [...]

I (along with several hundred other military spouses) was invited to the White House Tuesday morning for breakfast on the South Lawn! We had fresh fruit and pastries as the Marine Band played. After Secretary of Defense, Robert Bates gave [...]

President Bush - Live and in Color!

I took this picture, yesterday. Oh, yes I did. It was one of the most exciting days of my military spouse life and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. However, I haven’t the time right now to go into the details, so you will just have to come back tomorrow to read [...]
