I found this article about the Navy partnering with a civilian volunteer organization and Ghana’s Ministry of Health in Tema. They are helping to build a medical clinic and transport the supplies to stock it. It’s just part of a 7 month humanitarian deployment to West and Central Africa and the Gulf of Guinea.

There’s an article on Military.com about Sailors from the USS Harry S Truman who volunteered their liberty to participate in helping children in a Middle Eastern Port this February. My husband is a Corpsman in the Navy. To you civilians, that means he is a medical technician. It’s similar to Army Medics, but Navy Corpsmen are medical support for Sailors and Marines.
